Most people reading this page know me quite well. What you may not know is that I have quite taken to writing. Not a novel or anything like that, though. Just some things that I’ve found amusing and/or worth noting down.
It started with Lockdown and ancestry, when I wrote the story of my mother’s family. I wanted to to make a permanent record of their lives, in most cases long forgotten, even completely unknown by nearly everyone living today, and in so doing attach a mark of respect to their names. It’s 95% finished but arranging maps of where they lived and drawing family trees for each branch is proving a bit tedious.
So I needed something else to write about and when we had a couple of amusing and memorable events on holiday in France, I heard the laptop calling again. In this I was encouraged by Sabine and Mary Helen, especially after they had chortled at the first piece.
And that led to having a webpage, which you are on if you’re reading this. I dislike the term “a blog” and prefer “a story” which is what I see my writing to be.
I hope you are enjoying the stories. I’m certainly enjoying writing them and, in so doing, reliving the memories.
